Welcome!

A few years ago, we stumbled upon a story that was closer to home than we first realized. It turned out there were incredible histories right in front of us, but we didn't grasp the weight of them until recently.

Once the light came on, we began to research. We compiled facts and reached out to other families who shared the same history. What started as a curiosity grew into a substantial body of research and early dramatic materials. This work has been reviewed and contributed to by descendants of the families who built the community our ancestors called home.

We aren't just telling a story; we are honouring a legacy and creating a sustainable model for authentic storytelling.

We have collaborated to unearth the amazing history of an outstanding multicultural community with social norms that were decades ahead of their time. These stories carry themes of belonging, unity, and resilience that resonate deeply with global audiences, and are as urgent today as they were 100 years ago. In fact, the contributors to this project look very much like the community represented in our script… proving that this history is not just a memory, but a living thread connecting the past to the present.

There’s no guidebook for this kind of work. Every step has felt enormous. But you do crazy things for a story worth sharing!
